Presto Academy
Our Presto Academy is open to young performers aged 16-18 (current Presto students can enter from the age of 15).
Our Academy prepares students who wish to audition for professional training in Drama and Performing Arts. Each week, students partake in audition technique classes, Musical Theatre, Commercial and Contemporary dance, cardio and conditioning, solo singing, acting through song and ensemble singing. Throughout the course we work together to build a jam-packed portfolio of songs and monologues for each student, catered towards their strengths, which our young performers can then use for further training and professional auditions.
CLASS TIMES & LOCATIONS:
Saturday's - Cheam
1.30-4.30pm (PICCADILLY CLASS)
St Andrews United Reformed Church, Northey Avenue, Cheam SM2 7HF
Our Academy members will also benefit from regular west-end workshops, professional guest teachers and Q&A's with casting directors to gain further insight into a career in the Performing Arts industry. During the Summer term, the Presto Academy students develop their critical analysis skills as they write up a mini dissertation based on a Musical Theatre theme of their choice. For inspiration, the group will enjoy a night in the West-End, watching a current, popular musical. They will then write up their dissertation, with an in-depth analysis, which they will present at the end of the academic year, to solidify their learning and prepare them for the next stage of their training.
